
Cumberland Mutual is pleased to announce two executive leadership promotions that support the Company’s continued focus on innovation, profitable growth and operational excellence.
Jeff Ritter has been named President and Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Ritter will oversee the company’s operations, with a focus on continued innovation, profitable growth and operational excellence. Ritter has held a variety of executive leadership roles at Cumberland Mutual, including responsibility for corporate development, investments and strategic initiatives. His experience in these areas has supported the company’s long-term strategy and operational priorities.
Before joining Cumberland Mutual, Ritter held roles at Brookfield Asset Management and Bank of America. He earned graduate business degrees from the University of Notre Dame and Duke University and holds CPCU and CFA designations.
We are also pleased to announce the promotion of Neal Pierce to Executive Vice President. In this expanded role, Pierce will continue to serve as Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer responsible for treasury operations, finance & accounting, investments, and customer service operations, while taking on additional executive leadership responsibilities to support the Company’s strategic priorities and continued profitable growth.
Prior to serving Cumberland for over 15 years, Pierce was a principal and officer at Athey & Company, Certified Public Accountants P.A. advising business and individuals in the greater Delaware Valley area for over 25 years. Neal is a graduate of King’s College Wilkes-Barre, PA and holds CPA, PFS and CFP® designations.
Since joining Cumberland Mutual, Jeff Ritter and Neal Pierce have each played a significant role in strengthening the Company’s financial position and supporting sound decision-making across the organization.
