Policyholder Grace Period Information

Cumberland Mutual understands that due to the COVID-19 pandemic many of our policyholders may be experiencing financial hardship.  With our commitment to providing quality service to our policyholders’ in their time of need, we are pleased to offer a 90 day grace period to all of our policyholders upon request. 

    Our policyholders may elect one of the following two options:

   a) Elect to have your 90 day grace period begin retroactively as of April 1, 2020; or

   b) Elect to have the 90 day grace period begin on May 1, 2020

Upon your election, Cumberland will not cancel or non-renew your policy due to a financial hardship that results in your non-payment of premium.  Further, once the grace period is over, any deferred premium may be paid a) in full if you so elect or b) spread equally over the next 12 months or the remainder of the policy, whichever period is longer. 

Further, we are waiving any late fees, interest or penalties during your elected grace period.
